The 2008 Wake Games were this past weekend at OWC. Congrats to team Supra rider, Josh Sanders, for making it into the final 4. Josh has been battling injuries the fast few years and its good to see him going strong again. My gosh, count how many tricks he throws, 3-4 more than everybody else. Congrats to Ronix rider Adam Errington for placing 3rd and LF team rider Phillip Soven for taking 2nd. The Bonecrusher, Rusty Malinoski, took 1st with a solid run!!!

The Best board ever shaped in my opinion. Soft landings with the center spine and consistant 3-stage pop that is very reliable. My approach to the wake is very relaxed and the Watson compliments that. Because of the blended rails, from rounded in the middle to sharper on the nose and tail, it tracks well on edge and is very forgiving at the same time. The fin setup allows it to release quick off the wake for spins.

We just received a shipment of the 2008 Liquid Force 42″ Aaron Reed SST Bi-level wakeskate and they look awesome!!!!! An all wood look with the long lasting performance of compression molded construction. These won’t last long!
We just received our second Ronix shipment for the year which included the new 2008 Ronix Wakesurf Boards. The surfs for the 2008 are the Caption 4′8″ for the experienced aggressive riders and the Stage 5′4″ for the beginners and long board style riders. These boards are limited this year so get them while they are hot!
Skiers Choice has brought it to our attention that unless something is done fast, in fall of 2008 all boaters will have to apply for and buy a permit to run their boats. Please visit www.boatblue.org and click on “take action” to make a stand against this. If this passes, this will mean an increse in boating cost, plus this will drive boat manufacturers to make changes, which in turn will increase the cost of boats and engine even more.

Another board review for everyone. Yesterday I had the chance to ride the Ronix One 142. Let me start out by saying that I was riding the biggest wake I have ever ridden, a sacked out Supra Launch 24SSV Gravity Games Edition.
The board had tons of pop and pretty decent landings. I was expecting a slightly harder landings with the board not having a center beam but was quite suprised. The few times I landed in the trough of the wake or even when I cased the wake a few times, the board absorbed it quite nice-not too bad on the knees. My style is more of a snowboard type style so I was expecting the stock 1″ fins to be a little too grippy. I was pleasantly suprised that this was not the case. The board gripped well but not too much. The thing that was different about this board than any other board I have ever ridden is the edge response. All Ronix boards blend their rails from a sharp to rounded edge to make the boards ride different. The One is very rounded in the middle of the board and then gets sharper as it gets to the tip and tail. When I was switching from a toeside cut back to heel the board rolled very slowly from toe to heel. It took me a couple of times to get used to this but I eventually got used to it.
This is a great board for the relaxed style wakeboarder. I could easily see myself riding this board but would not recommend it to the very aggressive rider.
On a side note, I have ridden every board in the shop now except for the Liquid Force Witness, which I plan on riding within the next week. I will try to post reviews on a lot of the boards up but if you want to hear my personal feedback just send me an email- diamondlakesws@yahoo.com
