Why buy from anyone else?

May 29, 2008

Consider this our rant for the year, haha.

Why buy from anyone else?…..That is what we find asking ourselves.  Diamond Lakes WaterSports is fully dedicated to pushing the wake sports in Arkansas.

Our brands……Supra and Moomba have clearly dedicated their R&D and Engineering to the wake sport side of things (even though the Outback is still one of the top 5 slalom wakes on the market).  Just from taking a quick test drive/ride of any model we have, you will see that our stock wakes are the biggest and best shaped wakes on the market.  All of our staff has ridden in, on, and behind just about everything on the market and we all prefer Supra and Moomba and the brands of boards we carry…….and not just because of our jobs.  Ask Jon about this if you are curious.

Our staff……what we may lack in age we make up for in experience and dedication.  Our staff has a combined 27 years of watersports experience, competed in over 30 state tournaments, competed in 3 national tournaments, and one employee being the chief call judge at the largest national amateur tournament in the United States.   We are the only dealership and wakeshop around that the owners and managers are actually out and active on the water.  Would you rather buy from an active wake-sport and boat enthusiast that knows exactly what they are talking about because they do it every day or from a guy that is trying to sell a boat with a “roll bar”  or a sweet looking “boogy board” ?

Who chooses Diamond Lakes WaterSports and the brands we carry?

  • The winner of the Outlaw (semi-pro) Division at INT Nationals in 2007
  • The coordinator of the Arkansas INT League
  • The #1 ranked Wakeskater in the World-Reed Hansen
  • The #1 ranked Female Wakeboarder in the World-Amber Wing
  • The official coach for Wakeboard Magazine-Kyle Schmidt
  • The Pro who teaches top pros such as Parks, Zane, and JD Webb-Dave Briscoe
  • The most stylish rider currently on the water-Ben Greenwood
  • and the list goes on……

I ask again, Why buy from anyone else?

Check your transmission coolers!!!

May 14, 2008

Due to all of the bad storms this spring the water has been very dirty, even in some of the more cleaner lakes in the area.  We have seen a few cases of engines overheating because of clogged transmission coolers.

If you would like to keep this from happening to your boat you may check this very easily.  On the front of the engine (facing towards rear of the boat for a v-drive and towards the front of the boat in a direct drive) is your raw water pump which holds your impeller.  On the bottom of the pump there is a hose that feeds the impeller housing water from the lake.  On the top of the pump there is another hose that leads toward your engine.  At the opposite end of this hose is where your transmission cooler is located.  It should look like a long cylinder which a few lines running off it.  To check the cooler simply loosen the hose clamp with a 5/16″ or a 8mm nut driver and remove the hose off the bottom of the cooler.  After the hose is off, reach your fingers into the transmission cooler and you should feel a metal screen.  If there is any debris between the screen and the opening in which you are putting your fingers through, just clear it out.  When you are done put the hose back on and clamp it down.

*this may not be where all transmission coolers are located

If you do not feel comfortable doing this we would be more than happy to at your next service.  Happy boating!

Ebay

May 4, 2008

Our board companies and suppliers have made it known to us that there have been many “illegal” items but on ebay recently.  They have asked us to inform our customers on those items.

First of all, NO certified shop where it be an online shop or “land” shop is allowed to post any new items on Ebay.  Any shop that does is risking terminating their relationship with that company.  I know in our dealer agreements we sign with our companies that applies to Ronix, CWB, Liquid Force, Protec, Reef, Sidewayz films, WetSounds, and of course Supra and Moomba.

Second, if you see an item on ebay that seems too good to be true, most of the time it is.  Many “new” products listed on ebay are blems or factory seconds, whether it be flaws in graphics, misdrilled fin holes, unfinished edges, etc.  Just an FYI, factory blems carry NO warranty whether sold online or at a land dealer.  And yes, the factory marks these items and know what is marked as a blem and not.

Third, if you are looking at an item on ebay we ask that you please call us first before you bid or buy it.  Many times we might have that same product in the shop at the same price and sometimes cheaper.   We do carry over previous year model boards and bindings that go for very cheap.  Sometimes we even over stock in current model boards and sell them for blowout prices.   I promise you, if you find something on ebay, call us and 95% of the time we will have that item for the same or better price or something comparable that we will make worth buying from us.

Fourth, for normal online shops (buywake, ambush, wakeside, etc), we all price our items at the same minimum ad price that the manufacturer sets.  The difference is that when buying local you can see it before you buy it, try it on before you buy it, and even take advantage of our demo program.  And if you don’t have time to come in the shop, we’ll ship it for free.

SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL PRO SHOP.  Without your support, we will not longer be able to support you.
